a quick update

Journal Entry: Tue May 26, 2009, 8:47 PM

I've been so busy lately. Custom projects like crazy, donating time to another studio, and trying to manage life. I got my pneumatic machines finally, I'm pretty pumped about that, but, i have to find the right project to test them out on. I went to a tattoo comp recently, the judges loved my work, except one, she said it all looked too new, "of course you dumb bitch, I'm what you call thorough," regardless, I didn't take home an award, so, I left pissed off. I've been cranking out some good portfolio work as of late, starting to get into portraits, and thats about it. Thanks everyone for all the favs and compliments.

lol, yeah. I'm still only going to the ones in my neighboring states. I wouldn'r mind a guest spot sometime, if you could arrange that.
would you happen to have any advice for a young woman with dreams of being a tattoo artist?

ALL I WANT FOR MY BIRTHDAY IS A DAILY DEVIATION!
Find a good artist that is educated, patient and not money hungry, and ask for an apprenticeship. Be prepared to drop a few grand for it though, job training isn't always cheap. Until you find the right artist, just keep drawing, trace lettering, over and over, and over again, it'll help.

Lastly DO NOT buy a tattoo kit, you'll just set yourself up for failure. Any questions about drawing, I'll answer on here if you'd like, but tattooing is hands on.
